São Jorge, nature in its purest form!

São Jorge is at the heart of the Azores archipelago and one of the three islands that form the “Islands of the Triangle” along with Pico and Faial. These three islands seem to converge and give the impression of a large lake, where dolphins and whales abound in the deep blue sea while nature offers golden sunsets.

Soak in São Jorge’s lush green vegetation that stretches from end-to-end with mountains, beautiful volcanic craters, spectacular cliffs and countless locations to simply relax and revitalize. Enjoy the exceptional hiking trails where nature is still at its purest form. In the fields between the green and blue hydrangeas graze cows that produce some of the best milk in Europe – the key ingredient for the internationally recognized São Jorge cheese.

São Jorge and the four islands that surround it give natural landscapes that are of rare beauty. The deep blue ocean offers opportunities to go fishing, whale watching and dolphin watching, boat rides, sailing or to practice other water sports or take day trips to the nearby islands.
